The Redwood Region Logging Conference is pleased to announce their 2022 Forest Education Program.  We look forward to your participation with us and we hope that you will take a few moments to review the material.

 

Our goal is to provide a positive learning environment about our forests and their endless cycle, while insuring a quality educational experience for all participating students and teachers.  To achieve this goal with our existing volunteer force and fiscal resources, the RRLC Board of Directors have establish the following policies and programs:

 

1)   The 2022 Mural Contest is open to grades K through 8th in all Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, Lake, and Mendocino County Schools.   Please review this material, indicate your interest on the Forest Education Program Application form, and return to us by December 11, 2020.  Pulp sheets will be delivered to participating classrooms by January 15th, or soon thereafter.  Every class returning a completed mural will RECEIVE A $50 CASH PARTICIPATION REWARD.

2)    Request a Resource Professional such as a Forester, Wildlife or Fisheries Biologist, Geologist, Surveyor, etc. to visit your classroom.

3)   Education Day will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022, the opening day of the 84th  annual Redwood Region Logging Conference at the Redwood Acres Fairgrounds, Eureka.  Attendance will be limited to 1,500 Humboldt County school children, grades 3rd through 6th.  Bus transportation costs for authorized classes, will be reimbursed by the Redwood Region Logging Conference provided the following requirements are met: 

 

      a) The RRLC Education Day field trip is an approved school activity and is covered by the school’s liability insurance;

 

      b) An invoice and supporting documentation is submitted to the RRLC Office by May 15, 2021 for reimbursement not to exceed $250 per bus.
